MARINERS SECURE GOALKEEPING STOCKS

Mariners coach Mike Mulvey has continued to build his squad, with two goalkeepers secured for the upcoming A-League season. After a successful trial, 17-year-old Joe Gauci has arrived from Adelaide, after earning a two-year scholarship. Meanwhile, Adam Pearce has extended his time with the Central Coast, signing a contract extension until the end of the 2018/19 season. The 21-year-old first signed with the yellow and navy in 2014.

WYONG ROOS CONTINUE UNBEATEN RUN

To the NSW Cup, and Wyong has extended its unbeaten run to five matches, with a 22-point win over Wentworthville this afternoon. The Roos opened the Round 15 encounter with a strong start – Billy Smith opening the scoring five minutes in, while the Magpies responded through Nathan Davis. But Rip Taylor’s men were up to the task at Morry Breen Oval, running in seven tries to claim back-to-back wins and secure their sixth victory for 2018. Wyong now sit ninth on the ladder.

BIG NUMBERS EXPECTED FOR BAY TO BAY RUN

More than 2,500 participants are expected to hit the pavement in tomorrow’s annual Bay to Bay Running Festival. All three events – the half marathon, 12 km fun run and 3 km kids race will again finish at Central Coast Stadium. Terrigal Trotters president, Jenny Barker, says a number of high-profile runners will be involved. It’s all for a good cause with more than $75,000 expected to be raised for this year’s charities.
