GAV’S WEATHER – A HOT, MOSTLY FINE WEEKEND

There’s very little cloud over the nation at the moment. The low off the east coast will deepen generating weekend swell, but the majority of the country will continue to be dominated by the high ridging itself over eastern Australia. Hot and mostly sunny across the majority of the local region region. There is a weak southerly change that will move up the coast in the early hours of tomorrow morning, not affect regions north of Coffs.

GAV’S WEATHER – STRONGEST CHANGE OF THE YEAR ON THE WAY

Eastern Australia is still extremely hot but some rain is now on the way. The trough and associated front is on the move and will help flare up showers and storms. The southerly change will be the strongest of the year. Becoming cloudy with strong southerly winds. Showers and rain developing as the system moves quickly across the region during the day. A large dangerous swell will also form. The heat will be cleared and the cooler conditions will continue into the weekend with coastal showers becoming a regular feature.

GAV’S WEATHER: CHANGE ON THE WAY

There’s a lot of cloud making its way across the north and west of the country. Central and Eastern Australia is mostly clear. Partly cloudy along the northern NSW coast and into southern Queensland. More wet weather will come down in the north west. Eastern Australia is still extremely hot but some rain is now on the way. The trough is on the move and will help flare up a few showers and storms later in the week, as the best southerly change of the year moves through. Another hot day with north-west to north-east winds ahead of the first significant rain band and associated southerly change of the year on Wednesday.

GAV’S WEATHER – HOT WEATHER CONTINUES

There’s a lot of cloud making its way across the north as multiple tropical storms continue to flare up. The trough in the south is producing plenty of cloud but little rain. Eastern Australia continues is extremely long hot run. The trough remains stalled but will help flare up a few showers and storms, mostly on on near the ranges. This activity will increase as we move towards the weekend. Remaining hot and mostly sunny with north-west to north-east winds.

GAV’S WEATHER – HEATWAVE CONTINUES

The satellite shows there’s a lot of cloud making its way across the north, as multiple tropical storms continue to flare up. The trough in the south is producing plenty of cloud but little rain. Eastern Australia continues its extremely long hot run. Another scorcher is on the way with afternoon sea-breezes fanning the coastal fringe. This trend will continue over the next few days.

Some swell is going to hang in there for the weekend and along the North Coast into southern QLD. The winds will be out of the south-east, so the point breaks will still be happening, especially in the morning leading up to the high tide. South of Seals, the winds will be out of the north-east so you’ll have to hit the northern corners. Also get the morning session in before those winds get too strong.
