GAV’S WEATHER – THE MERCURY IS BACK ON THE RISE

Very little cloud sits over the country at the moment. The system over SA is looking a bit healthier today and set to deliver more rain to the south-east. Victoria will receive most of the rain tomorrow. The weak low will pass over the local region on Thursday triggering some light falls. Tomorrow it is going to be a predominantly fine and very warm to hot day inland with north-west to north-east winds.

GAV’S WEATHER – SET TO WARM BACK UP

The upper level cold pool that triggered last nights storms continued on a path northward, triggering continuous storms through the day for northern NSW and south-east Queensland. A large high will clear and is moving out over the Tasman. So more showers will continue along the Queensland coast. Slight risk of a morning shower for the Northern Rivers and south-east Queensland before clearing. Northerly winds are back so its set to warm up in the coming days.

MORE WET WEATHER FOR THE GOLD COAST AND NORTH-EAST NSW

It’s still raining over eastern Queensland, and there’s more to come but the system is set to ease. A large high will move out over the Tasman driving moist, onshore winds in over the Queensland coast. More heavy rain periods are expected. Onshore winds will continue along the NSW coast making for partly cloudy skies and a few showers mostly for the north-east. Another cloudy day for south-east Queensland and northern NSW with more showers. Remaining fine for the north-west, Mid-North Coast, and Greater Hunter with easterly winds continuing.

VERY WET WEEKEND FOR SOUTH-EAST QUEENSLAND AND NORTHERN RIVERS

It’s still raining over eastern Queensland and there’s more to come, but the system is set to ease after producing heavy rain over the weekend with the Upper Springbrook receiving over 300mm. A large high will move out over the Tasman, driving moist onshore winds in over the Queensland coast. More heavy rain periods are expected. Onshore winds will settle in along the NSW coast, making for partly cloudy skies and a few showers. So another day of showers for the northern NSW and south-east Queensland coasts. Partly cloudy but mostly fine for Newcastle and Central Coast. Fine and mostly sunny for the north-west. Easterly winds to continue.

HEAVY RAIN ON THE WAY FOR SOUTH-EAST QUEENSLAND AND NORTH-EAST NSW

It’s a predominantly clear nation at the moment. Scattered cloud sits over parts of Queensland stretching back to the west. A large high will sit over the south-east, forcing the toughs to the north so the rain will spread to Queensland and north-east NSW. Onshore winds will settle in along the east coast making for partly cloudy skies and a showery weekend. So the cloud cover along the coast will increase with scattered showers. Heavy showers and periods of rain will affect south-east Queensland and north-east NSW on Sunday, and on Monday flooding will be possible. Very little shower activity will make it past the ranges.

We’re not looking at a great weekend for surfing. Freshening onshore winds are set to make a mess of most beaches. The weekend will be cloud affected and heavy rain begin to fall across the far northern beaches of NSW and south-east from Sunday.

GAV’S WEATHER – MORE RAIN ON THE WAY BUT NOT FOR ALL

It was cloudy along the Hunter and Mid North Coast as the southerly kicked in. Further north it was partly cloudy. Inland the cloud and wet weather has been tracking eastward over the nations heartland. That slow moving system will move towards the region tomorrow triggering some much needed rain with storms likely in the far west. Ahead of it, things will warm back up with the change set to move through on Thursday, producing widespread rain with the better falls coming down in the north-west.

A pulse in the swell will move in tomorrow from the south, so the sets will be bigger for Hunter Coastal waters, building for Macquarie coastal. Still small to moderate for northern NSW and South-East Queensland. Southerly winds for your Saturday before switching to the north on Sunday.

GAV’S WEATHER – RAIN ON THE WAY

Scattered showers and storms fell across South Australia today under this large blanket of cloud which extends to western NSW, and will produce rain across northern NSW tomorrow. That slow moving system will move in across the region triggering some much needed rain with storms likely, mostly affecting the northern parts of NSW and southern Queensland. A low will form in the Tasman and cooler southerly winds will move in making for a cooler start to the weekend. A cloudy and cooler start to the weekend with rain falling west of the Divide and showers elsewhere with some storm activity possible. Again there will not be a great deal of rain on offer for the Greater Hunter. Better falls will come down Sunday into Monday.
