Bellingen Hospital is welcoming news it’s one of a handful of hospitals on the north coast, earmarked for upgrades under new state funding.
Construction of a $5-million sub-acute ward is about to begin, and now the hospital’s emergency department and ambulance will also be redeveloped.
Services at Dorrigo will be strengthened with fresh funding to expand its Multipurpose facility to accommodate more GPs.
The Kempsey Hospital will upgrade its renal dialysis unit, while in Wauchope, the hospital will use new funding to improve the X-Ray department.
