Calls to conserve bushland earmarked for major housing development

Newcastle Council is at loggerheads with the State Government over plans to fastrack a rezoning to unlock one of the region’s largest housing proposals.

If approved – conservationists believe the 4,200 new dwellings would come at a big cost.
