It’s been a great weekend for Hunter teams, in the Waratah Basketball League, with the Newcastle men and women both beating the Central Coast, while Maitland hammered the Sharks.
The Newcastle men’s side was led by American Austin Thornton, who had 33 points and 13 rebounds.
If the Hunters can beat the Mustangs at Broadmeadow this Saturday, Newcastle will lock in top spot on the ladder.
