The Coalition has promised to protect one of the Upper Hunter’s natural wonders from the threat of mining.
The gorge – known as The Drip – is located in the Goulburn Valley National Park, west of Muswellbrook.
In 2010 the sandstone rock formation was sold as part of a mining lease.
But the government says if it wins this month’s election, it will return the 50 hectare site to the national park.
