NSW PLANNING RECOMMENDS DRAYTON SOUTH BE APPROVED

The New South Wales Planning Department has recommended that Anglo American’s Drayton South mine extension be approved.

The department says it’s satisfied the benefits of the project will outweigh the costs, and believes the Hunter mine strikes an appropriate balance in protecting the interests of nearby horse studs.

A public hearing on the project will be held in Denman, on September 10.
