MORE RAIN ON THE WAY FOR NEW SOUTH WALES

More rain is on the way for New South Wales just weeks after a freak weather system caused devastating floods across the state.

Rain is expected in the north-eastern parts of NSW until at least Sunday as a coastal trough and low moves across the state.

The NSW Mid North Coast and Northern Rivers could see up to 30 millimetres on Thursday and 60 millimetres on Friday, Weatherzone said.

It comes as these regions and Sydney’s north-west have been inundated by floodwaters in recent months, with the latest emergency event only just receding.

There are no severe weather warnings in place on Tuesday but they could come into effect as the weather system hits over the coming days.

However, there is a surf warning that has been issued for the NSW coast.

Weatherzone warned the weather system will bring “strong winds and large waves of about four to five metres” on the NSW north coast from Thursday into the weekend.
