COVID OUTBREAK GROUNDS PIRATES; PORT CITY CLASH POSTPONED

A covid outbreak at the Old Bar Pirates has forced tomorrow’s clash with ladder leaders Port City to be postponed.

Group 3 Rugby League confirming up to 20 players across all grades have been struck by the virus.

It’s the second game impacted by covid this season, with the Hawks to face Wauchope in a catch-up game next month.

“it’s not new and I think the way covid is going now maybe there will be some other clubs going through the same issues,” Group 3 CEO Mal Drury said.

If the Pirates and Breakers clash isn’t played, both teams will receive a competition point.
