THE SECOND TIME IN 34 YEARS BYRON BAY OCEAN SWIM CLASSIC IS HELD IN VERY WET WEATHER

It’s the second time in 34 years the Byron Bay Ocean Swim Classic has gone ahead in very wet weather.

The 2-point-2 kilometre swim began at Wategos Beach this morning… Swimmers racing around The Pass and across the Bay to Main Beach.

Queenslander Bailey Armstrong took out the men’s in 20 minutes and 42 seconds.

And, Mermaid Beach’s Ashleigh Allred wasn’t far behind – winning the women’s race, in just 24 minutes and 45 seconds.
