WOMAN THREATENED, CHARITY COLLECTION TINS STOLEN DURING ARMED ROBBERY AT GRAFTON

Police are investigating after a woman was threatened and two charity collection tins were stolen during an armed robbery in Grafton.

About 5am on Tuesday, a 44-year-old woman arrived at a licensed premises on Armidale Road at South Grafton, before a man forced entry to the hotel.

The man approached the employee, threatened her with a knife and demanded cash.

She activated a security alarm, before the man stole two charity collections tins and ran from the area.

He was last seen heading west on Norrie Street.

Police are appealing for public information to identify a man who may be able to assist with investigations.

He’s described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, about 170cm tall and of thin build. He was wearing dark-coloured clothing and a face covering.

Police are urging anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage from the nearby area between 4.30am and 5.30am to contact Grafton Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
