ROUND FIVE OF NEWCASTLE DISTRICT CRICKET GETS UNDERWAY

It was a full day of cricket with the rain holding off long enough for round five of Newcastle District Cricket.

At Wickham, ladder leaders Hamwicks sent Waratah Mayfield into bat.

Opener Asher Robins and Sean Lynch got off to a great start – with some steady batting and some luck.

Hamwicks dropping a couple of clear chances.

The pair brought up a half century partnership….eventually scoring 33 runs a piece, as the team made 6/182.

Hamwicks were all out for 112.

Wests are the only team undefeated – making light work of Uni….while Cardiff-Boolaroo had their first win in a while, beating Belmont.

Stockton beat Wallsend….89 from Michael Richardson helped Charlestown beat Merewether and Newcastle City overcome Toronto.
