REPTILE PARK BECOMES HOME TO RECORD-BREAKING ‘MEGASPIDER’

The Australian Reptile Park’s latest adoptee has been turning heads… and raising hairs.

The aptly-dubbed “Mega Spider” is the Park’s largest Funnel Web Spider EVER – measuring at 8cm from top to toe.

The giant arachnid, which is being compared to a Tarantula, was dropped off to the Park in a Tupperware container this week as part of a weekly collection drop.

Volunteers are now hoping to find the spider’s donor to find out where Mr Mega was located.

At the moment, the Park is relying on public spider donations to keep up venom supplies and help researchers in its ‘anti-venom’ program.
