After a slow start to their Women’s Big Bash League premiership defence, the Sydney Thunder won both of their matches at the weekend.
The Central Coast’s Lauren Smith didn’t have to bat against either the Melbourne Stars or Hobart.
But in yesterday’s clash against the Hurricanes – Smith helped dismiss of one of the best players in the competition – Mignon Du Preez.
Still on the bottom of the ladder, the Thunder are now just one win outside the top four.
The Sydney side face Brisbane Heat in Adelaide this weekend.
