HEALTH AUTHORITIES INVESTIGATING MID NORTH COAST MYSTERY CASES

Nine new covid cases on the Mid North Coast have left health authorities searching for answers.

While these infections are being investigated, three more are linked to an existing cluster – bringing today’s total to 12.

There’s one new case in the Clarence Valley, five at Harrington and four in Taree.

And with the Mid Coast in the midst of a covid outbreak, the first dose vaccination rate is nearing 95 per cent.

While almost 75 per cent are fully vaccinated.

“We’re really pleased with seeing these numbers and seeing these first doses going up, particularly want to acknowledge the 16 to 39 year old age group we’ve seen the vaccination uptake just skyrocket so it’s great news,” Hunter New England Health’s Dr Peter Murray said.
