In the Hunter New England Region – there are another 62 new cases of COVID-19 and one death.
Sadly, a man in his 40s from the Maitland Local Government Area died in Maitland Hospital. He had not received any doses of the vaccine.
Of the HNEH cases, 40 were infectious in the community, there’s 28 active cases in hospital, and two are in Intensive Care.
In the last 24 hours, there’s been another 283 locally acquired cases across New South Wales.
There were 88,664 tests reported across the state to 8pm last night.
Across New South Wales, more than 92 per cent of people aged 16 and over have received one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and more than 81 per cent are fully vaccinated.
