BEV RUMBLE MAKES TAREE LEAGUES BOWLS HISTORY

History was made at the Taree Leagues Sports club this afternoon.

Bev Rumble becoming the first woman to feature in the club’s men’s open triples championship final.

Never one to make a fuss, Bev says she’s just happy to be back on the green.

“We were in lockdown we couldn’t play with our social distancing but we’re back so we’ll just see how it goes,” Bev said.

She wasn’t the only one looking to etch her name in the history books.

“We’ve got Warren Cocksedge he’s in the opposite side and if he wins today he gets the clean sweep of all the championships which is singles pairs triples and fours,” bowls secretary Greg Campbell said.
