TAMWORTH RESIDENTS COPPING BULK WATER PRICE INCREASE NEXT YEAR

Tamworth residents will be slugged with a price hike for using bulk water at the start of the next financial year.

River water prices have gone up by 44-percent, and water from Chaffey Dam by 34-percent, under changes implemented by pricing regulator, IPART.

“Look it is a challenging situation in the way that water is priced and those costs are accommodated by the users and I guess we do live in a user pay world.”

The local council will continue to foot the bill until June 30.
