The Hunter has set another unwanted record, recording 97 new COVID cases overnight, the vast majority in the Lake Macquarie area.
Of the Hunter’s 97 cases, 34 were infectious in the community, 66 are linked to known clusters or cases and 30 people are hospitalised – four in the ICU.

There were 31 new cases on the Central Coast, nine in northern New South Wales and three on the mid north coast.
Across the state, there were 646 new cases in the past 24 hours and 11 deaths.
