HUNTER BUSINESS SECURES $20 MILLION TO REPLACE MINE SITE DIESEL ENGINES WITH BATTERY LOADERS

A Cardiff company has been given $20-million by The Australian Business Growth Fund and The Clean Energy Finance Corporation to build mining equipment that is more environmentally friendly.

3ME Technology is manufacturing 150 battery electric loaders, to replace existing diesel engines at mines throughout the Hunter.

The project has helped create 100 new local jobs – and will improve safety for mine workers on site.

“Throughout COVID, we’ve doubled our workforce, and with this funding, we’re very excited to now have the committed resources to double again.” – Justin Bain, 3ME Technology CEO.
