500 ADDITIONAL FOREIGN WORKERS ANNOUNCED FOR AG INDUSTRY

An additional 500 Pacific Island workers will be deployed to farms across New South Wales in coming months.

They join more than 2,000 who have arrived since the start of the pandemic, to help with a critical labour shortage.

Their arrival has been made possible by the ‘Help Harvest’ program, which provides a 50 per cent subsidy for hotel quarantine.

The workers will take up jobs in abattoirs, factories and on farms.
