TAMWORTH CASE IN ISOLATION AS CITY ESCAPES LOCKDOWN

Tamworth has escaped lockdown, for now.

The city recorded its first Covid case in more than 18 months, yesterday.

It’s understood the individual, who is isolating on a rural property, is linked to a previously known infection at Glen Innes.

However, health authorities are yet to release any further information – with local MP, Kevin Anderson, feeling confident Tamworth is safe.

“There’s no exposure sites updated on the list at this point in time and we understand that the person is very low-risk. We hope it stays that way.”

Yesterday’s case from Glen Innes was included in today’s numbers.

Health authorities urge anyone, with the mildest of symptoms, to get tested.
