ARMIDALE IN THE CLEAR: RESIDENT RECORDS A FALSE POSITIVE

Yesterday’s reported COVID-19 case in Armidale has now been confirmed by New South Wales Health as a false positive.

The news taking the city off high alert.

But warning bells are now sounding in Glen Innes where COVID 19 fragments were found in the town’s sewage for the first time.

“So we’ve seen fragments of the virus that causes COVID in several communities where we don’t have known cases, so we are really stressing that it is so important for people living in those communities to come forward for testing with even the mildest of symptoms.”

It comes on the same day the town is hosting its first mass vaccination hub.

Tamworth has also recorded its fourth consecutive positive sewage result, the source is still unknown.
