MAN IN CRITICAL CONDITION AFTER CENTRAL COAST CRASH

A man is in a critical condition following a single-vehicle crash on the Central Coast.

About 4.30pm on Friday, emergency services were called to Dog Trap Road at Ourimbah after reports a car left the road and crashed into a tree.

A nearby resident and passing motorists stopped to help the driver, before emergency services arrived.

The driver – a 72-year-old Ourimbah man – was trapped in the vehicle for some time before he was released.

He was airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital with critical injuries.

Two small dogs were also found in the vehicle and taken to a local veterinary hospital for assessment.

A crime scene was set up, and an investigation has started into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

As inquiries continue, police are urging anyone with dashcam footage from the area, to come forward.
