NEW SOUTH WALES RECORDS 478 NEW COVID CASES

Another uptick in COVID cases with 478 recorded overnight and another eight deaths in the hours to 9am this morning.

Of those new cases, 16 are in the Hunter New England Health district.

Here’s a breakdown of those cases – six were infectious in the community, 13 are linked to known cases and three are under investigation.

Two are associated with an aged care cluster.

The health network has also clarified this morning that the Mater Hospital’s emergency department is not a venue of concern.

The Central Coast recorded two additional COVID cases overnight.

Western New South Wales remains an area of major concern for New South Wales Health, with 35 cases recorded in the region – primarily in Dubbo and Walgett.
