ALL OF NEW SOUTH WALES TO GO INTO LOCKDOWN

All of New South Wales is set to enter a seven-day snap lockdown from 5pm this afternoon.

The lockdown is due to run until August 21.

It comes after the state recorded another spike in COVID cases, with 466 new infections identified overnight and 60 of those infectious while in the community.

The Deputy Premier, John Barilaro, said the lockdown order was being introduced to “minimise movement and protect our communities from the evolving COVID situation in Sydney.”

More to come.
