NEW SOUTH WALES RECORDS 345 NEW COVID CASES

New South Wales has recorded 345 new COVID cases overnight, 60 of those infectious while in the community.

The state also recorded two additional deaths – a man in his 90s from south-west Sydney at Liverpool Hospital and a man in his 90s at Royal North Shore.

The Hunter has recorded 24 new COVID cases overnight, and the region’s lockdown has been extended for at least another week.

Of those 24 new cases, all are linked and six were infectious while in the community.

It’s understood these numbers include 11 residents from the Masonic retirement village at Edgeworth, who are now being cared for in John Hunter Hospital.

 

The ACT is the latest region to enter a snap lockdown after a positive case was detected.
