NSW RECORDS HIGHEST NUMBER OF COVID CASES IN ONE DAY SINCE START OF DELTA OUTBREAK

New South Wales has recorded 356 positive cases of COVID-19 overnight.

13 cases were recorded in the Hunter New England Health District – 10 in Newcastle and 3 in Lake Macquarie. 3 cases in the local health district are under investigation.

The number of cases is the highest number recorded in a 24 hour period since the start of the Delta outbreak in Sydney.

Three people died overnight – a man and woman in their 80s, and one man in his 70s. All three were not vaccinated.

NSW Health has confirmed there were no additional cases in Armidale or Tamworth. It’s still investigating one case potentially on the North Coast.

There were 95, 000 tests across the state overnight.
