OLD BAR PHARMACY URGES MORE PEOPLE TO GET VACCINATED

Phones have been running off the hook at Old Bar Pharmacy with eligible residents over 60 booking in AstraZeneca jabs.

More than 120 vaccines have been administered this week, with a shipment of 300 doses on the way.

The pharmacy was one of 22 across regional New South Wales taking part in a vaccine trial program, aimed at easing the burden on GPs already struggling.

“I’ve heard from a lot of patients getting an appointment itself has been a nightmare but just come to the pharmacy we have been taking 8 to 10 walk ins a day so it’s easy and convenient,” Old Bar Pharmacy owner Akash Mehta said.

“Don’t sit on it folks, as soon as you’ve got the opportunity get out there and do it,” Old Bar resident Heather Unicomb said after receiving her vaccination.

Additional pharmacies will start giving vaccines from Monday.
