A triumphant win in Rio, has seen Diamond Beach athlete James Turner named as Paralympic Rookie of the Year, in Sydney last night.
The Paralympic champion was a finalist for two awards, after a memorable race in his 800 metre event.
The 20-year-old shaved nearly three seconds off the world record.
