MAN CHARGED FOLLOWING AGGRAVATED BREAK-AND-ENTER IN OXLEY VALE

A man has been charged over a break and enter in Oxley Vale early this morning.

Officers were called to a property on Kirkham Crescent just after 1am, following reports a man and woman had forced their way in.

It’s alleged the man assaulted two residents before stabbing one of them in the leg.

A 45-year-old man underwent surgery for his injuries, while a 42-year-old woman was treated for a minor hand laceration.

A 20-year-old man was later arrested – he’s been refused bail.

It’s understood a woman fled the scene.

Police are continuing to investigate.
