TAMWORTH COUNCIL BACKS NRL WITH $20,000 SPONSORSHIP

With the Tigers and Sharks’ Tamworth clash less than three months away, the local council has locked in a $20,000 sponsorship of the NRL.

It says the cash will help to promote the city, when the teams go head to head at Scully Park on August 21.

“Council has supported the previous two rounds and this one, of no surprise to me, that council supported that endeavour to bring a Wests and Sharks game to the city.”

It’s the third NRL clash to be held at the venue in two years – and is expected to inject $1.8-million into the economy.
