Cracking down on rural crime was also a major focus at PrimeX today.

Crime Stoppers and the Rural Crime Prevention Team opening a stall at the expo.

With livestock theft on the rise, they say it’s important to report crime in order to break the cycle.

“Over 80% of our farmers report having been victim of rural crime, 76% have been a victim on more than one occasion and a staggering 23% have been a victim on 7 or more occasions,” Detective Seargent Bennett Nolan from the Rural Crime Prevention Team, said.

“Almost every single person has a smartphone. It’s never been easier to contact Crime Stoppers than it is today,” CEO of Crime Stoppers, Peter Price, said.

You can visit the stall for free property signage and information.
