Morgan Cibilic has scraped through the elimination round, at the latest event on surfing’s World Championship Tour, at Rottnest Island.
Cibilic’s combined wave total of 8 point 9 was just enough to knock out Jadson Andre and join fellow Merewether locals Ryan Callinan and Julian Wilson in the round of 32.
“The thing about Morgan is he had such a great run through the east coast Newcastle and North Narrabeen and over in the west it just hasn’t gone his way.”
The 21-year-old was relegated to the elimination round after being called for interference on Deivid Silva.. the pair will square off again in their next heat.
