BRIGHT CAMPAIGN LAUNCHED AHEAD OF ANNUAL ‘ROAD SAFETY WEEK’

Motorists are being asked to slow down and take care, ahead of National Road Safety Week.

Tamworth Regional Council launching the awareness week with representatives from Transport for New South Wales.

The annual campaign is characterised by bright yellow ribbons, to remember the 1,200 people who lose their lives on Australian roads every year.

“Over the last little while, since the covid restrictions have been lifted, we, in Tamworth, have seen a significant amount of traffic coming in from all over Australia. And, what this means is that people need to be aware of safety issues, because safety on the road is absolutely paramount.”

It runs from May 16 to 23.
