Northern Rivers residents may notice helicopters flying low to inspect power lines over the next three weeks.
TransGrid says the annual bushfire safety program helps identify where vegetation is growing close to transmission lines and any maintenance issues.
Rural property owners are being encouraged to secure their animals during the patrols.
Crews will inspect more than 13,000 kilometres of infrastructure across the state over the next two months.
