LABOR COMMITS $32 TO COMPLETE SECOND STAGE OF MUSWELLBROOK HOSPITAL

The lagging redevelopment of Muswellbrook Hospital has been the focus of Upper Hunter election campaigning today, with Labor pledging $32-million to complete the second stage.

The Opposition says it would include fixing a gap in surgical services.

“They built a surgical ward and an operating theatre – the issue is the operating theatre is empty. So you go from the surgical ward into the op theatre and there’s nothing in there, it is empty.” – Jeff Drayton, Upper Hunter by-election Labor candidate.

“How does that work? This is like building a house and not putting in a kitchen.” – Jodi McKay, Opposition Leader.
