MAN CHARGED OVER PUBLIC SHOOTING

A man will face court today, over an alleged public shooting in Cardiff.

Police were called to a home on Newcastle Street just after 11pm on February 14, following reports a group of men were fighting.

Officers spoke with a 26-year-old man when they arrived, but couldn’t find anyone else nearby.

A 21-year-old man has been charged in relation to the incident and remains before the courts.

After further inquiries, police received information that a firearm was discharged twice during the fight.

It’s understood no one was injured during the incident.

Officers attended a property on Newcastle Street on March 16 and spoke with a 37-year-old man.

He was arrested and taken to Belmont Police Station, where he was charged with firearms offences.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Belmont Local Court today.
