CESSNOCK INDIGENOUS SEVENTH DEATH IN CUSTODY IN SEVEN WEEKS

An indigenous man’s death in Cessnock jail yesterday was the seventh in an Australian prison, in as many weeks.

The 37-year-old from Moree was found unresponsive in his cell at about 10am.

The cause of death isn’t known.

“What more do we have to do to prove that accidental or not there’s a national crisis and Scott Morrison must step in and all a new fresh royal commission.” – Aunty Trace, Justice Aunties.

The man’s death will be the subject of a coronial inquiry.
