A 37-year-old First Nations man has died after being found unresponsive in his cell at Cessnock jail this morning.
He was found at around 10am and pronounced dead at 11.15am.
The incident sent the facility into lockdown.
Corrective Services NSW says it’s investigating and that all deaths in custody are subject to a coronial inquest.
