GAV’S WEATHER | SHOWERS SET TO RETURN TO THE COAST

There’s cloud over the northern tropics with rain and storms continuing.

Most of the nation including the local area is clear but cloud is going to increase along the coast in the coming days.

A large high dominates the chart drifting across south-east Australia.

A large trough over western Queensland.

As the high slides in over the Tasman, the onshore winds will help build the cloud cover in the coming days across northern New South Wales and south-east Queensland, triggering increased shower activity later in the week.

Partly cloudy along the coast with the occasional isolated shower in the north.

It will be another fine day for the Hunter and north-west.
