MAN CAUGHT POINTING RIFLE AT VOLUNTEER FIRE CREW
A man has been charged with firearm offences, after police seized three guns and ammunition in a vehicle near Tamworth.
Officers were called to Appleby Lane at Appleby on around 10:30am Saturday following reports a man was armed with a gun outside his property.
Witnesses told police the 41-year-old had pointed a rifle at volunteer fire crews who were conducting controlled burns in the area, but did not shoot.
No one was hurt.
Police spoke to the man before locating the firearms.
He was arrested and taken to Tamworth Police Station shortly after.
He was refused bail and will appear in court on Monday.
