GUNNEDAH MAYOR CALLS FOR AN INCREASE IN MEDICARE REBATES

Gunnedah Shire’s Mayor is calling on the government to increase Medicare rebates in the regions.

Jamie Chaffey believes it could act as an incentive for doctors to stay put in country communities.

The councillor is also lobbying for a regional health ministry to be established within the New South Wales Government.

The ideas will be put to council during the mayoral minute in tomorrow’s monthly meeting.
