New England medal contenders are returning home from the Royal Easter Show – with their respective prizes.
Deano’s Smoked Trout was carefully flown to Sydney for judging and after securing gold two years back, hopes were high.
The judges looked at presentation, smokiness, texture- and, of course, taste.
“It was quite good to see it back on again cause last year they didn’t have it on because of Covid, it was pretty tough competition, which I ended up getting a silver medal for my fillets.”
Dean Williams is taking the judges’ feedback and gunning for gold next year.
