NSW HEALTH CONFIRM 26 PEOPLE ISOLATING IN SPECIAL ACCOMMODATION

NBN News can reveal 26 people who were identified as being at Covid venues of concern in Byron Bay are completing their 14 days of isolation in special accommodation.

New South Wales Health organised rooms at The Lismore Bounty Motel with the assistance of New South Wales Police – so that those staying at temporary accommodation or an unsuitable property could isolate properly.

Chief Executive of the Northern NSW Local Health District, Wayne Jones, says all people isolating will be required to return a negative swab result before leaving the accommodation this weekend.

“These additional isolation arrangements provide a secure and supportive environment for these patrons. We thank them for their cooperation.”

“We are continuing to monitor the health and wellbeing of these people and provide them with support while they complete their isolation period,” Mr Jones concluded.
