SURPRISE SLITHER SPOTTED IN TAREE

An eastern brown snake has been spotted by a vigilant father walking along the popular river bank park run circuit in Taree.

Tim Latimore and his three children were headed towards the park when the snake appeared and arched up aggressively.

Mr Latimore contacted emergency services who sent a local snake catcher.

According to the catcher, only one other eastern brown snake has been spotted in the area in his time.

The snake caught is the most venomous in Australia.
