Some of the Hunter’s best young athletes came together at Belmont today, to launch this year’s Academy Games, hosted by the Hunter Academy of Sport.
The event features a range of sports including basketball, golf, hockey, netball and a triathlon.
“Giving you something to work for really gives you that intrinsic motivation to really work hard and try and beat the other team basically, beat your competitors and perform as an athlete and I’m sure that’s what every athlete wants.” – Conor Smith, hockey player.
More than 1,200 kids, aged 13 to 17, will compete when the games begin on April 16.
