COAST TRIO ON PODIUM IN CANBERRA

Nicola McDermott has been victorious in tough conditions in the high jump at the Canberra Track Classic.

The Tokyo Olympic qualifier bowing out at one-metre-94.

Mingara’s Emily Whelan was third.

While in the long jump, Bethany Kranendonk finished on the podium for the first time, claiming bronze with a leap of six-oh-five.

The 20 year-old will compete at the Brisbane Track Classic at the end of the month, while for McDermott, her next meet will be the Nationals in April.
