TAMWORTH PRAISED FOR WATER CONSERVATION EFFORTS

Tamworth Regional Council has praised residents for their water conservation efforts, despite restrictions easing in the past year.

Consumption throughout summer remained at the same daily amount as when the city was on Level 5 restrictions.

Council says Tamworth, Moonbi and Kootingal are using an average of 18 megalitres of water per day – five less than the target.

It comes as the region enjoyed cooler summer temperatures and consistent rainfall, for the first time in years.
